Overtime pay calculator.
Overtime pay is the hours worked beyond the shift, times the hourly rate, times the overtime rate. The hourly rate is the monthly salary divided by the days in the month and then by the hours in a full day (9 by default), and most workplaces pay overtime at 2×.

Common questions.
How is overtime pay calculated from a monthly salary?
Divide the monthly salary by the days in the month to get the day rate, then by the hours in a full working day to get the hourly rate. Overtime pay is the overtime hours times the hourly rate times the overtime rate, usually 2×.
What overtime rate should I pay?
Many workplaces pay double. The Factories Act requires overtime in factories at twice the ordinary rate of wages; shops and offices follow their state’s rules. Stafrix uses 2× by default and lets a manager choose a rate between 0.5× and 5× when approving overtime.
Is the allowance part of the hourly rate?
Not in Stafrix. The hourly rate is worked out from the monthly salary alone, so a fixed allowance doesn’t change the overtime rate.
What counts as a full working day?
The length of the shift, without the break when breaks aren’t counted as working time. When a shift doesn’t set one, Stafrix uses 9 hours.
How does Stafrix count overtime hours?
From real check-out times. Time worked past the end of the shift is counted, and it’s paid only once a manager approves it, at the rate chosen in the approval.
